Birthday, Penny Black and More

Good afternoon, sweet bloggers, and welcome to 2 more lovely followers. Thank you so much for taking time to sign up on the followers list. Love to have you visit here when you have time. I hope you will see something you enjoy. Just read the loveliest message from Miss Anne about my cards being a "Blessing". Oh, folks, did that ever make me feel so good (and humble too, 'cause I never thought of Blessing with regards to any card I might do!) So thank you - many, many times over for saying that. You made my day.  Another exciting thing that happened this afternoon: Our Upstate SC got our first little snowfall (of any note). We had a beautifully sunny morning. I was going downstairs to collect towels to launder, and noticed the sky had clouded over, so I'm thinking "maybe we'll get rain". I was downstairs - maybe 10 minutes. Came back up, and I can see out the laundry room window as I'm ascending the stairs, and think "well, the rain is here". Got to the top of the stairs where I have a good view out the window, and Oh My Gosh! It's not rain, it is SNOW! It came down very fast, quite thick, big flakes. It had some ice pellets in it too. I took some pictures & quickly sent to a lot of relatives - some live further south, some just a few hours north of us. By the time I had the pictures transferred from the camera, attached to an email, the heavy flurry had stopped. I don't think the ground is cold enough for it to linger around, but it was really pretty coming down. Was lovely to see it fall, as I am blessed to be able to stay inside where it is cozy & warm.

I have a card to enter in the February Penny Black and More  challenge. It's not a Penny Black stamp, but a Northwoods stamp. It does have some pink, some bling, so maybe it might fit in with the theme. I'm going to try anyway! <g>

- Stamp is Northwoods Heart Basket colored with copics, Rock Candy stickles for some sparkle
- Glossy Accents on the heart sprigs
- diecut with S/binder Label 23
- My Minds Eye Lost & Found design paper
- Prima pearl swirl
- lace-ribbon border is from stash
- mat for the stamped image, handcut from a piece of wallpaper sample

Hope you'll come along to Penny Black and More  to see some very pretty cards that have been submitted. Have a wonderful Saturday, and hope it's cosy wherever you are this afternoon.

  4. Hi Mary, not sure if I should be happy that you had snow but you seemed so pleased that it must have been very nice for you. We have not had much but I just want it to be spring now..... Your card is beautiful, I had a close-up look at it and love the way you did the little hearts, they are gorgeous! Hugs, Anne x

  5. Such a pretty card with all the red hearts and pearls! And it is nice to see snow, but it's also nice when it leaves:) We have a couple of feet of it on the ground, it's a winter wonderland up here. It will be a while before we see the ground again. Enjoy the weekend, Shirleyx

  9. What a beautiful stamp and you've colored it beautifully! Love those shiny hearts too! You'll no doubt make it over the 100 follower mark by your Blog Anniversary! We got some of that snow too. It snowed here almost all day and was so pretty. It didn't stay long because the ground was so warm, but we sure enjoyed seeing it!

  10. Oh Mary I love this card! I love that image!! You have colored it so pretty, love those shiny hearts, and that basket. So, so pretty! Of course you cards are a blessing my friend, and Miss Anne was smart enought to tell you so! We got snow just this morning, it was coming down fast and thick for a while. Started out with rain, then sleet then snow and now rain again. The plow went through as the road was covered with snow and he salted too. So now the roads are clear and the rain is coming down. It is 36 degrees, so hence the rain. lol I guess old man winter isn't done with us just yet. Hugs!!
