Hello and thanks for joining me on a beautiful Saturday morning. We've gotten some Halloween cards ready so I hope to get started on Fall themed cards in the next day or two. We always remember someone else to whom we should send a card, so you may see another Spooky here & there! We've never had this much of a head start on a holiday before. Feels good! (The Blogger made me do it! :-} )
I've been seeing so many wonderful cards using the Memory Box window die and I thought the image used in this next card would be perfect for a window die. Here goes:
- Memory Box Madison Window die
- Memory Box sentiment (Spare Parts brads), stamped in Colorbox Fluid Chalk Pumpkin ink, sponged with DI Vintage Photo.
- S/B Flourish Trim Deelight die behind sentiment.
- Paper Studio woodgrain EF on kraft. Inked the EF with Memento Rich Cocoa before embossing.
- solid Great Impressions witch image stamped with Archival Black ink on white card stock; masked - then airbrushed with copics. There's lots of layers of airbrushing to get the evening sky look. The piece had dried for a while, didn't feel 'tacky', but in removing the mask, I got a fingerprint just above her feet. We're calling this boo-boo a design element!!! Used C4 for the shadow around Witch's outline.
I will claim this card as my creation, but DH's idea.
Hope your weekend is off to a good start. Enjoy it, and come again. Porch is nice & clean - for a little while anyway! We can sit a spell, rock & watch the neighbors pass & give a wave. That's what we do here in South Carolina! Hugs.

Friday Fun Day at Jo's Scrap Shack
Hello & Happy Friday. Today our challenge for Friday Fun Day at Jo's Scrap Shack is sponsored by Limited Runs Digital Stamps. Our Friday Fun Day Challenge #16 was to be based on the following sketch:
Now, here is the card I created
- digi image was Birdhouse #1, and was such a treat to color with copics after printing on some Cryogen paper that was a bit lighter weight than what I'd tried previously. (Think it was like 80# weight...the other Cryogen I've tried, that my Epson printer does not like - is a tad heavier). I just tried this weight on a whim, and was delighted to see it feed through well.

Birthday
Good Morning Folks. I'm happy to report that yesterday saw the front porch cleaning get done. Ahhhhh...that is me sighing because I was totally worn out when the task got finished, we got cleaned up, wet clothes were into laundry. Got in the recliner about 4:30pm, and didn't stir until about 9pm! Now onto cleaning 20 windows. I expected to be really stiff and aching today, but I took an Aleve before I settled in the recliner, and thankfully, seem ok today.
Here's a card for the birthday of a friend's husband. I hope he will like it. I have to tell you - the outer black edge is from what I had placed the card on to photograph. When I first looked at the picture I'm like "How did I get the thing on the cardbase like that?". Then I had a DUH moment! So the actual card is just the green splotchy base and then the die cuts. :-0
- Image is a LaBlanche stamp, stamped & colored with copics last summer. Used more of the LaBlanche specialty paper. I'm thinking when my supply of this is gone, I will stick to Xpress & Neenah, as it 'feels' better to me when I'm using copic markers.
- die cut with S/Binders Labels 29. Used the outer edge of the die to make a black faux mat using a white pencil on black c/s, then handcut.
- splotchy card base was done on Canson Mixed Media paper, 90# weight using Dylusions Green Martini. I mixed some of the original spray in a bottle, diluted with plain water to get another shade of the spray. Then did the same procedure in a 2nd bottle, added some white linen, shook it very well & had 2 new shades of Dylusions. I'm using about 1 oz of each color, then filling the bottle with water. You could have all shades - depending on the mixture of the original spray to the amount of water. Then after getting the look I wanted on the cardstock, I spritzed - very lightly - with a yellow Dylusions (think it is Sunshine). I sprayed some Tattered Angels gold after the first level dried. I like how it turned out.
- added a punched dragonfly, 2 layers of lightweight glitter paper (American Crafts, 6x6) in light blue, yellow. IRL you can just see the bottom layer of yellow peeking through.
- Elizabeth Craft die cut sentiment using a snippet from the mat cut finished this one off.
We are off to Costco & Sam's (and probably lunch out somewhere...!) to get my new prescription driving glasses, and possibly look for a pressure washer. DH borrowed our neighbor's washer to do the shed & deck last week, and I'm not a big fan of borrowing equipment from other folks. If it breaks, you have to replace it, and I'd rather we just have our own if we're going to be buying one.
Thanks so much for joining me this morning. Have a wonderful afternoon, and I hope to get around to doing some visiting later this evening. Hugs

Halloween
Good morning. Back with another Halloween card, made from a cute Penny Black image.
- the image is PB 3 Headed Monster, colored with copics. Easy coloring as far as the image goes, _BUT_ the paper I used was a LaBlanche Specialty paper, supposed to be good to use with copics. This particular piece felt very slick, almost a glossy type finish, but didn't look glossy. It didn't color 'easy' as does Xpress paper or the Neenah. I used 'stroke' colors because the usual recommended copic circle technique did not look at all nice. When I did a 2nd coat with stroke movements, I liked it a bit better. I have used the LaBlanche speciality papers before and liked them, but sure didn't like this particular piece. Didn't blend well either. Adding the google eyes was DH's idea.
-S/Binder die cut frame is from a very thin glitter paper from a 6x6 American Crafts pack. It's easier to use punches on this lightweight paper.
- punkin Jack o' Lantern is an MS punch from the same paper pack, with a snippet of yellow behind the face.
- S/Binders Fancy Framed Tags One, with SU Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Memento Canteloupe with some added orange rhinestones.
DH says to thank ya'll for the nice comments on his Halloween cards. He enjoyed reading what folks had to say. No, he doesn't want to start a blog & yes he enjoys making Halloween cards, as long as I don't start giving him advice on how to make the card! :-) .
Ya'll have a nice day, and thanks for visiting. Will try to have a non-Halloween card tomorrow...Hugs!
