DeeDee's Country Christmas

Good afternoon.Get set to see some old fashioned country Christmas images from DeeDee's Digis. Knew that I wanted this set as soon as I saw it. One of the things I love about DeeDee's Digi images is the ability to use the image as it is, shade or fancy it up as desired, or print the outline image and color with your own preferences.
Don't forget there's a terrific Customer Appreciation sale going on through December 1st. Good chance to build up your digi stash at great prices.

Additionally, I would like to welcome DeeDee of Stamping Sunshine as my newest follower. Hope you'll take time pop over to enjoy some inspiration with her wonderful designs at her personal blog. (as well as the Design Team and Challenge cards over at DeeDee's Digis  website). Okay, enough blather.

Today is the 25th, so that means Rudolph Day has opened over at Stamping for Pleasure. This is the final challenge for the year, so don't miss playing along if you have the time. Rules are simple: 2 festive cards. Easy Peasy. I did my 2 cards pretty fast.

- Images printed on GP card stock. Added some details with WoS & Pentel Fine Point markers - which sparkle nicely IRL.

- MFT pierced circle die, shaded edges with Memento Desert Sand. One of the angel wings got an ink smudge from my fingers. Fussy cut the wings from a copy paper test print done to check sizing, adhered to the wings - added some glittering Diamond Stickles. WoS added to the Angel's shoes, collar, sox stripes, halo & star on the dress. Mr. Snowman got similar treatment for his star, arms, hat band and vest buttons. Copic shading on the green scarf. Used Copic E40 & E41 for shading around the snowy body, to keep with a vintage feel. Usually I would use BG0000, BG000 for cool shading on the snow.

- Cheery Lynn Italian Doily cut the mat for each image.

- Background for the angel: Applied Sookwang (double sided tape) to c/s. Cut strips of various size from snippets pile. If you look closely, you'll see some pieces of past projects :-). Great way to use up some snippets. Thought it made a nice 'country quilt' look that was appropriate for each image. Some of the pieces were just card stock, but some were off cuts of spraying projects done on mixed media or watercolor paper.

Snowman: Smaller c/s snippet  got the Sookwang. Was not large enough to make a card base. Decided it would work as a border in the center of the card. Which was then obscured by the doily & image! Hence the smaller strip added at the bottom, underneath the sentiment.

- Cream color seam binding colored with Copic reinkers to compliment the color of the doily. Sentiment is part of the Country Christmas set.

- Snowman card base embossed on cream card stock with a Sheena Snowfall EF after inking the EF with Memento Peanut Brittle Luxe ink. Add some Stampendous frontage over the embossing. Even though the Luxe is a pigment ink that I thought would stay wet long enough for the frantage to adhere, it didn't. Took some Versamark, sprinkled the frantage again, and heated from the underneath. Need more practice with frantage, I must confess. This time, it's covered up anyway. :-)

Off to link up at the November Rudolph Day. Then popping over to see my little buddy bear, Parsnip at the Snippets Playground Week 152- since I have lots of snippety bits on each of these cards. Would love to see you come along and play too.

Take care & have a blessed & wonderful afternoon. Big Hugs.

Christmas

Hello and Welcome to Mary Anne, http://lakesidestamping.blogspot.com/, a new follower. I think there are a few more as I saw the Followers number increase, but I've not been able to find out just who it is. Usually a new follower 'face' will appear in that section as a new addition, and I add the name to my database (for blog candy consideration, you know!); but I'm going to have to compare one by one, the follower's section with my database so that I know who everyone is. There's a difference in my spreadsheet numbers and what I see here. But I'll get that done before blog candy is offered again. So please do take time to surf by to check Lakeside Stamping for some swell inspiration.

Here's the card for today:

- image is Wildlife by Sweet Stamps, colored with copics on Xpress paper, die cut with S/B Opulent Ovals, smudged at the edges with DI Evergreen Bough while still in the die. Pearl trim was white, colored with R56. This was an easy fun image to color . When Sweet Stamps debuted this image and a couple of other pretty bird images, I got an email from the company, but I also got several emails from stamp friends who know I love birds telling me about a cardinal stamp. Yep, I bought 'em all (4)! This stamped image went along with me on our Florida trip, so I had to hunt up the stamp to give the specs.

All Occasion, Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground Week 86

Hi there, and let's take a little trip over to Pixie's Snippets Playground for Week 86. This card has a lot of snippets on it, so here goes:

- main image was recycled from a card (snippet) we received some years ago. I have saved pretty cards for years, with the thought that one day I'd decoupage a trunk with them. As with so many of my 'great ideas'...this one was a no-starter. Got the cards & the little trunk up in our attic room (trunk was a salvage from our daughter's college days).  I found a good use for the cards at least!

-The image was diecut with S/binders Label 5 - primarily chosen because the image would fit into the die and not cut too much of the motif.  The paper is a bit glossy, so when I tried smudging around the edges with a DI Faded Jeans, it took a lot of effort, as the ink didn't adhere well.

Birthday

Howdy all, and welcome. Welcome also to my newest follower, Anjas.  If you're even remotely intrigued by these Dylusions sprays (_and_want to see some fantastic use of Ryn's stamps), take a few minutes to follow the link for some pure art enjoyment. You won't regret it.

Here's a tag card for this afternoon ...now remember, I am not really a 'tag person'. I was trying to work with inking an acrylic block, spritzing, to get some watercolor effects. Hence the tag. I didn't accomplish what I was trying to achieve. After stamping the spritzed block on the paper and not especially liking the results, then I put the swipes of color directly on a craft mat. Spritzed the inked mat..started dragging papers through the inky spots. Then got some tags and played with those for a while. Here's one of them. I don't ever know what to use tags for, as I don't do altered art, so I made a card.

Get Well, Pixie's Crafty Snippets

Hello & welcome to my corner of Upstate SC, where there is a beautifully sunny & pleasant day. Our little Redbud tree finally burst into blossom - seemed like overnight (or maybe I was just missing a look at it for a couple days!). So a picture of that will come after my card.

This card is pretty much a total SNIPPET card (that sounds so much nicer than saying Scraps, doesn't it?).
