Good afternoon on abusy day that is winding down. Had a dental appointment this morning, so had to be out early. This card got finished last night, so here 'tis:
- Previously created Dylusions background using Funky Fuschia, Bubblegum Pink & Cherry pie. (and maybe a touch of London Blue that had been diluted with white linen). Some of these were full strength, then resprayed lightly with the White Linen dilution of the same colors.
- Couture Creations EF (Baubles & Baubles) over the sprayed background. Gelato gray smudged over the ornaments (I thought it was silver!), then colored the hanging dots & ribbons with a pentel silver pen. After rummaging through the box where the Gelatos are kept, I found the silver and rubbed it over the previous gray. IRL it does look a bit more silvery.
- Elizabeth Craft sentiment, from lightweight silver glitter, 2nd one from a snippet of previously created Dylusion background which had a pinkish tone. I thought it might work to have a shadow effect behind the first die cut, but after I had it adhered, I'm not real pleased with this. Don't think I'll do it again.
- Paper Studio textured silver paper cut for a card base cover. Pink rhinestones added on each ornament.
This was a pretty fast card - for me anyway. I like to do my 'experimenting' on one like this, rather than on one where I've spent hours coloring of an image. Then when I mess it up, it's more frustrating.
Submitting to Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra, where it's anything goes, as long as it has Christmas as a theme.
Thanks for joining me this afternoon. Don't think we have any errands to run tomorrow (of course DH can change that plan!) so I hope I can get down in my stamp area (guess I should say Studio?) to do some putting away. I just spent 15 minutes looking for this folder so I could provide the specs. It was on my desk, under a pile. I spend more time searching for supplies, than I do anything else! LOL & plenty of hugs.

Christmas
Hello and Welcome to Mary Anne, http://lakesidestamping.blogspot.com/, a new follower. I think there are a few more as I saw the Followers number increase, but I've not been able to find out just who it is. Usually a new follower 'face' will appear in that section as a new addition, and I add the name to my database (for blog candy consideration, you know!); but I'm going to have to compare one by one, the follower's section with my database so that I know who everyone is. There's a difference in my spreadsheet numbers and what I see here. But I'll get that done before blog candy is offered again. So please do take time to surf by to check Lakeside Stamping for some swell inspiration.
Here's the card for today:
- image is Wildlife by Sweet Stamps, colored with copics on Xpress paper, die cut with S/B Opulent Ovals, smudged at the edges with DI Evergreen Bough while still in the die. Pearl trim was white, colored with R56. This was an easy fun image to color . When Sweet Stamps debuted this image and a couple of other pretty bird images, I got an email from the company, but I also got several emails from stamp friends who know I love birds telling me about a cardinal stamp. Yep, I bought 'em all (4)! This stamped image went along with me on our Florida trip, so I had to hunt up the stamp to give the specs.

Christmas
Happy Thursday, and hope this morning finds you rested & ready to enjoy a day of doing something that makes you happy. (Perhaps it is even crafting! LOL). At the moment, we have a lovely, sunny day but the weather folks predict some thunderstorms to roll in later on today. We have errands to do and a possible meeting with a craft friend for lunch, so it should be a fun day for us. Yesterday we met high school friends (Lordy, I am going back a LONGGG way!) for lunch, and that was most pleasant. In another post I'll tell you how we re-connected with these friends that we used to double date with in our 'heyday'.

Christmas, Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge
Good morning Friend Bloggers, & at my house we have a sunshine morning. Welcome to a new follower, Stephanie (http://cricutmimi.blogspot.com/) whom I just met at the Friday Fun Day Challenge. Stephanie does some beautiful cards using her Cricut & Silhouette, so give her a look-in, if you have the chance.
Today's card is for the Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge #128, to use a diecut. I've had this image cut out for a while (recycled Christmas card), but just didn't get rountoit for making a card. Last evening I did a few more diecuts to mat it, embossed the background with a Crafts Two Pine Tree Scene.
Focal image - diecut with a classic S/B oval. First gold mat (snippet) was cut with the S/B floral oval and the mirror gold (snippet too) was cut with the ornate oval.
Green textured Bazzill base was embossed, then I rubbed some Snow over the trees, and IRL it looks nice. Doesn't show up well here however. I added a bit to the image as well (where the texture shows), plus a bit of Glossy Accents on the stream. This was a small scene on a larger card, and fit my S/B oval perfectly.

Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge
Happy Saturday, and I have a card which I hope will fit the Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge
where today's challenge is to show some white. I see white, so I hope Hazel will too! And today is her wedding anniversary, so why not pop by to check out the beautiful cards and wish Hazel & her DH a Happy Anniversary.
Here goes:
I have had this recycled card on my desk for a while. I just needed to make a shaped card base. I had diecut this image from a card received Christmas 2012, added some bling, sponged the edges. Finally diecut the cardbase, so now it just needs an insert to be ready for Christmas 2013!
Hope you like it....Have a wonderful day. Hugs

Christmas, Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge
Good Morning Fellow Bloggers, and I hope your Monday is off to a lovely start. Once again, we have a beautiful day outside, with temps going up towards the 70's today. Since I was too late for the last Craft Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge 118 (I misplaced my image, was too late to enter, blah, blah) I got busy and created this card to meet Challenge 119. Without further palaver, here's the card:

Christmas, Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge
Good evening Bloggers. Welcome to another new follower! I surely do appreciate my followers! We had a beautiful sunshine day, made it to our fitness center, did some errands..all in all, a productive day. (I don't seem to have enough of those...my own fault). I entered a Christmas Challenge yesterday at Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge Extra. She kindly sent me a link to another challenge & since I had a card nearly ready, thought I would take the plunge. Here goes:
Used Memento Summer Sky, London Fog for the snow, sponging using a template to create the snowdrifts. Used Memento Summer Sky, Angel Pink & Dandelion Yellow for the sky. Then started stamping on the sponged piece
- Snowbirds image is Art Impressions (are they not adorable?! Colored with copics since I was coloring over the Memento sponging)
- Trees (don't remember company, used Memento Cottage Ivy, stamping off once before stamping)
I dabbed some London Fog under the birds and around the tree bases using a Q-tip to create a bit of a shadow.
Then used a thin Multi-liner pen to creae their tracks
- Diecut with S/Binders Classic Square Large.
- Diecut blue mat with S/Binders Grand Square #1 die
- Diecut cardbase (Snowflake paper from a 12x12 Christmas pack) with S/Binders Grand Scalloped Square #1 die
- used a S/Binders Medallion (think it is Morrocan) to cut a small medallion, cut it apart, adhered with glue dots, added some red rhinestones.
- Peace sentiment from a clear Impression Obsession set, stamped with Versamark, embossed with Ranger Silver Detail Embossing.
The little white edge showing at the bottom is because I can't get the card to lie flat. Will have to use the old 'stack a heavy book' routine, or else perhaps some repositionable adhesive until it behaves properly.
Thanks for joining me this evening, and please check out Hazel's CHNC, Challenge 113. I'm off to test Mr. Linky. Sometimes he likes me, sometimes he does not! In the meantime, have a wonderful evening. Hugs.

Christmas, Rudolph, Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra
Good evening friends, welcome to another new follower who is from Scotland! I hope that you all had a good day. For any who might have been in the USA Midwest blizzard path, I also hope you are tucked warm & snug tonight. Have just been reading about a lot of power outages & it's brrrr when your heat goes kaput. After being inspired by this beautiful card and reading about Miss Mo Googling card folds, I decided I would try the same search. I settled on a Z-fold (nothing fancy like Mo did, but this fold is NEW TO ME!). Didn't get the card photographed until this evening, no natural light, just the overhead kitchen lights. I found some Photo Shop tips at Splitcoast Stampers, so tried to edit the photo a bit. I hope simple editing made a clearer & sharper picture. Here's the card I'm sharing & submitting for Rudolph Day; but now I am puzzled as to what sort of a closure to add to front fold, so the front will stay down flat!
- Cardbase cut from Red Reflections lightweight cardstock
- papers were from The Paper Studio, Old World Paper Pack, 4 1/2x 6 1/2
- Stamp - Deigh Co, 193 - Peekin Reindeer, colored with copics; nose has Stickles Christmas Red, Spica pens for some glitter on the candy cane red stripes, stocking. Polar White Flower Soft & Ultra Glitter (sparkly) on the furry hat
- Image diecut with S/Binders Labels #15, sponged with DI Milled Lavendar while in die
- EFolders: Front Panel was Crafts Two - Baubles; Inside Panel - Darice Dot Point
- Sentiment: Great Impressions D378, diecut with S/Binder Grommets #3, stamped with Versamark, heat embossed with Ranger Queen's Gold
I also added a design paper panel to the underside of the front fold, embossed with an EF, and hidden by the front fold & image, is a cutout from an upcycled Christmas card. I like this card, and will try this fold again. (along with trying to learn some other new ones!)
Now there is a nifty challenge going on here (it's called Rudolph Day, and is a great way to get a jump start on next year's Christmas cards...plus a place to get a look at some wonderful cards by some talented crafters). So if you have time, please surf over to Stamping for Pleasure Rudolph Day
to spend a little time while browsing some really pretty cards.
I've been following another Christmas Challenge over on Facebook, and I think I'll see if I can submit this card...I believe it meets the critera for Craftyhazelnuts Christmas Challenge Extra for February...so I hope you'll take a look at this blog too. Hazel does some awesome cards and has some stunning entries in this challenge. It will be my first time to participate.
As always, thanks for joining me, and have a relaxing evening. Hope to see you again tomorrow with another card for Rudolph Day, if I can get another one finished!
