To Those Who Served....

Good Morning. In the USA, today is set aside to remember all those who have served in our military, past & present. So many have given of their time, their health, their lives - to preserve our country's freedoms. So that we of today can live the way we choose, and it is only fitting & proper to say a Heartfelt Thank You to those brave service people.

The photo is a free one found on the internet....But it represents what I feel about today. My family veterans include my father, my 5 brothers, my husband, and various nephews & nieces throughout the extended family-- in several different wars and conflicts. We are justly proud of their courage and sacrifice. Ache for the heartbreak of those who were left behind too - so that their loved ones could serve. Thank you to ALL - Americans and those courageous citizens in any country who served their country. In ANY of the wars that have been fought.

Have a blessed day. Hugs

  5. Both my parents, and all 7 of my uncles, served in WWII. On this day I remember the appalling events that servicemen and women went through during both Wars, as well as those who have served more recently. It's not just to remember and appreciate the sacrifice of the fallen, but to remember those who served and returned home injured in body and mind - for those, I think we should not just remember them and be thankful one day a year, but every day!!!

Thanks to your family for their service.

  6. A beautiful tribute and one that is very touching. My dad fought in WW2 and my mom, who is German, was only 17 when the war ended and survived the bombings of Hamburg and Dresden. her 1 yr old brother died in the war and her 19 yr old brother died right after the war(he along with 178 German servicemen all "died" from their wounds in a hospital taken over by the Russians). War is hell and anyone who has suffered through it needs to be remembered
