Inspiration Card |
My Card |
The card base used was from a $1.00 pack of Dollar Store small cards, that was purchased enroute to one of the family kids' birthday picnic, as I didn't have time to make her a card. I thought a good way to use this pack up was to cover the front with whatever design I wanted. It's the perfect size for a thank you card.
Heat embossed the sentiment using Ranger Seafoam White. I didn't think to 'prepare' the flower stamps first (where you pre-stamp or sort of sand the polymer lightly) and some of them didn't stamp as well as I'd expected. Good thing for Misti. Used various cube inks for the colors, and this would bead up on the tiny stamps. After stamping around the edges and creating a 'frame' for the sentiment, sponged a DI light pink shade and then tea dye, going darker in the corners. The Inspiration card has more yellow tones than my pink card, and I didn't do any 'stitching' lines, but I think my neighbor will like it.
Hope all of you are keeping cool as I know so many of my European pals are dealing with brutal heat as well as we Yanks are. Thanks for dropping in....I hope I got my visiting caught up. We were busy earlier in the week, so I got behind - Uh-gin! Life and Lazy get in my way too much!
Big Hugs. Have a wonderful day and come back when you have time.
It's great!! It really does mimic the birthday card and is so pretty. Creative thinking!!

Beautiful thank you card and love all the little stamps-yes we have had it hot here lately but thankfully last couple of days slightly cooler-never satisfied springs to mind lol

So pretty Mary. It really does look like the birthday card inspiration. Your neighbour will love this! Stay cool! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Mary,I love that you have taken inspiration from that pretty Birthday card, what a brilliant idea!! Aqua and pink go so Well together and I can see you getting plenty of mileage from those pretty stamps. It's not been quite so hot here today. Our poor dogs don't know what to do with themselves. I have been making ice lollies for Surprise...plastic ice cream cartons filled with chopped up carrot and Apple frozen in mint tea...She loves them!! xx
ReplyDeleteSo kind from your neighbor giving you a card!! Your thank you card is lovely and you made a great use of the little stamps!
ReplyDeleteSurely your neighbor will like it!
Hugs

I love that you tried to replicate the card given to you by your neighbor, and it turned out to be quite like the original! Good job on that, and I know you're having fun with that wreath builder and we'll see many more cards made with it in future postings :) Stay cool, it's a hot one, like 7 inches from the mid-day sun!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Mary, what a clever idea to recreate a card you have received. I'm sure your neighbour will be thrilled to receive it. It's been so hot in the UK lately, but thankfully today was a little cooler and we actually had a few drop of very welcome rain. xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card you received, Mary, and you did a perfect job recreating it!! The colors are so gorgeous!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

I think you did an amazing job at matching the birthday card you got Momma Mary! I've covented this set since Gina K came out with it! lol Even made my own little template to try. I'm sure you will have a fun time with this set. It sure worked out well for this card and I really feel you got the same look as the birthday card. I say, WELL DONE!!! My comments aren't coming in to my email either, the only time they come in is when I "publish" them. Sigh, not sure what is going on. I try and remember to go through the blog to publish them, but sometimes I forget! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteTwo pretty cards, the one from your neighbour and your return one. I love the sweet little flowers and the background colour shows then off perfectly Mary. We have just had a week away in Wales, Pembrokeshire to be exact, and the weather was perfect, just a little cooler than here in Somerset which suits me better, although it is not so hot today. The house was very hot when we got back yesterday, but threw the windows open and after a good airing was much better. I hope to show a few pictures of our week away when hubbie has sorted them out. x
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that you are so kind to emulate your friends card as a tribute, and it is certainly beautiful, I'm sure she will be thrilled with it and your thoughtfulness. It has such pretty images and colours.
ReplyDeleteWeather today here in Wales! - Large clouds, with promise of rain cooled to 22C from the low 30's we have been having, but this evening the sun has come back out and it's supposed to be getting warmer for the weekend again, I'm loving it, just glad I don't have to work though LOL.
Enjoy the porch Mary xx
Great take on your neighbor's card, Mary. I'm sure she will be flattered that you cased her. Terrific idea and this card looks like it was fun to make too.
ReplyDeleteMary, I think you did a great job casing the card. I do think she'll see the resemblance. I love floral cards like that and there are so many wonderful sets out there that will make gorgeous cards. It's heating up here too. Supposed to be high 90s on the weekend. Great for the tomatoes but I wilt in this heat. LOL! Have a super weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea to case the card for a thank you! I think you’ve done a great job with it too. It’s cooled down a little here now, thank goodness, the heat and me don’t agree any more!
