Birthday

Welcome and Happy Sunday afternoon. I'm back with a quick share, of yet another lady image that I colored with copics last summer. I'm trying to go through some colored images and use up some of the UFO's, so I hope you won't get too bored with the same ole. I'll go on to something else with the next card - hopefully!

- unknown stamp image - as I don't own this stamp. It was stamped during a group meeting when we were exchanging stamps that we each didn't have. It is colored with copics, and after die cutting, sponging the edges with DI blue jeans, I added a shadow of Y0000 around her figure for a sort of sun-glow look. Spica red added to the hat plume and blue spica on her hat for some sparkle. Small red rhinestone on the plume.

- Light yellow cardstock embossed with a Darice EF. Chose this color to emphasize the yellow shading around her silhouette.

-  dark blue mat was cut from Paper Studio paper with some deckled shaped scissors. On this paper, the scissors chewed - rather than cut - in small places, but I liked the effect. This paper has the look of mulberry paper, but much thicker...almost like handmade paper.  Used same paper to cut the sentiment mat with an SU circle punch; the punch didn't like this paper either. A Paper Studio scallop punch used for the white background of the sentiment - sponged with the same Memento Paris Dusk  used for the sentiment stamping.

Snippet of the blue mat paper used for the border, then snippet from the yellow c/s punched with an MS border punch. There are dots under the red piece, which didn't exactly line up as well as it should have..just a smidge off, so I covered that with the red snippet, added some glossy accents.

This lady reminds me of those photos of the Gibson girl in a way...minus the large mutton sleeves.

Enjoy your afternoon. Come again when you can, and God Bless. Hugs

  2. Hi Mary,

Nice card! I actually started working on my "craft closet." Unfortunately I came to an abrupt stop when I finally opened the cabinet I got from Amazon. One of the sides is broken (not all the way through though). What's worse is that it's past the 30 day Return time..... oh well. Maybe I'll get out some of my E6000 and see if I can make it work.

    Hugs,
    Kay

She does look like a Gibson Girl minus the leg'o'mutton sleeves...you are right!

Great colouring and I really like how the deckle scissors tore the paper...such a nice soft texture look!
