Vintage

Happy Saturday and welcome to my effort at making a somewhat vintage card. Before sharing the card, let me say a warm welcome to Dawn -  http://www/designsbydragonfly.blogspot.com  -
& Roberta -  http://queenbeepapercrafts.blogspot.com/  2 new followers. Thanks so much for joining as followers.

Here goes:

- Rubbernecker stamp - Alexandra - colored with copics. I did several of these images last summer while chair-bound, trying different color combos on her attire. It was a fun image to color. Some months ago, while browsing our local Hobby Lobby, I came upon a set of papers in a small package..it's called Mixed Media (101) Fashion Plate Collage Pack. Remembered these images colored in the UFOs, so thought this paper might go well with the ladies.

- Cheery Lynn Italian Flourish doily remnant, that has been sponged with DI Milled Lavendar, Victorian Velvet & Pumice to complement the color of Alexandra's gown. Did the same on the papers after getting the triangles glued together. I love the look of these old-fashioned dresses. I have to say I think ladies' clothing of that day were a lot more elegant than our fashions of today.

- sentiment is Elizabeth Craft die cut from a leftover alcohol ink mess-about, then mounted on a scalloped oval diecut. I have been using these sentiment dies just flat against the front of the cards, but I think I like this look better. I sponged the same colors as detailed above, around the white. I'm thinking as I look at the photo, I should have laid down a base of DI Tea Dye first, as this looks a mite white against the cream of the fashion ladies paper. Oh well...

- Prima Say It In Pearls flourish (a part of). The roses were peach, so I used copics to color them more pink. Alexandra was mounted on dimensionals to keep the figure from being flat against the doily & pearls.

I have a friend who has worked in the fashion industry most of her life. I think this may become a birthday card when I add the sentiment. Hope you like this one.

Ya'll enjoy your day & hope the weather is pleasant where you are. It's still hot around our area.
Thanks for visiting, and big hugs.

  10. This is so glamorous and chic! I agree with you, clothes in the olden days were so much more elegant than they are now! Though I wouldn't like to have to wear little white gloves when going out somewhere, as I remember my mother wearing in the 50s. Not that there's anything wrong with gloves per se - but, white???!!!They'd soon be grey if I had to wear them!

Have a lovely week, and I hope you get cooler weather soon!

  12. A super vintage card Mary. Love your colouring. I'm having a play with my GraphIt pens at the moment . Trying to do shading. As the pens are all light tones the images are tending to be much the same. Trying to the invent the wheel here!!, hugs Mrs a.
