Friday Fun Day Challenge #26

Hi and welcome to another Friday Fun Day at Jo's Scrap Shack, where our sponsor for Challenge #26 is Fitztown Digi Stamps.  I chose Wild #8 (here) to use on the card for today's Anything Goes theme.

- Wild #8 was colored with copics using a snippet of Copic Xpress paper. Used BG0000 as a base color. Chose various earth shades for the brownish fur tones, then started adding in some warm grays. Changed to cool grays where I thought those would look better. Printed out a color photo of a wolf to see as I colored. Used some Silver Star gelly pen around in places just for a little sparkle - and oh yes, on his icy blue eyes.

- Die cut image with a S/B deckled oval, and smudged DI Iced Spruce around the edges. Used  BV0000 to shade the image background, switching to BV01 for the shadow around his head.

- Used Impression Obsession CAC Clouds (CC091) stamped on white GP cardstock, using Colorbox Fluid Chalk French Blue. My IO Mega Mount stamp block has gone missing in the mess in the stamp area, so used the stamp press instead. This worked great with these larger stamps. Overstamped Clouds with CAC Birds on Trees (CC102) using Versamark, then heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Black EP. I've never used Versamark over a previous stamping & wasn't sure how this would look. Liked it but in the spot where the cutout is, the embossing didn't get as glossy - still looked ok. Had the bright idea to mount the Wolf head behind an aperture, instead of using mounting tape to have the image on the front of the card. Used a S/B scalloped oval because none of the plain ovals would fit well with the deckled oval image. Mounted this piece with tape on a black card base.

I think Mr.Wolf turned out as I envisioned. I quite like the look of peeking through the branches. Debated on a computer generated Cry of the Wild sentiment to add to the front. After looking at this for a bit, I prefer it as it is for a masculine 'whatever' card ...appropriate sentiment will go inside.

Hope you'll find time to play along with us at Jo's Scrap Shack Friday Fun Day, and let us see your creations. Rules are posted at Jo's, very simple to follow, easy linking too. In the meantime, from our hectic house to yours, many hugs.

  10. Your background is perfect for the wolf. He is so real looking. Its a gloomy day when the wolf comes out to play! The shading is done so well. I heard about the malware on the news and backed up last week. I hadn't done it for a while so I know people will appreciate the reminder.
