Class Cards

Impression Obsession - The Paper Cut Class Sample
Good afternoon and welcome. It's been a lazy day at my house. Attended the annual ScrapArt Stamp Convention yesterday, and stayed much too long. It was a lot of fun, but ...I did too much walking. I'm paying for it today! So, since I've been so lazy, didn't finish up some cards I have in progress, here's a sample from the class I attended Friday night (also a LOT OF FUN!).(I KNOW I said No More Halloween Cards...but had to share this one!)  The class was sponsored together with a local stamp store (The Mercantile), Impression Obsession Rubber Stamps, and The Paper Cuts. The class was taught by the fantastically talented Sarah, of The Paper Cuts. We made 7 cards from kits Sarah had prepared for us, and had a delicious pizza & salad buffet also. This card is made with an I.O. Cover a Card (CAC) stamp, Spiderwebs...on a Bibb card. The die is from I.O., named Halloween Hill, using glossy black paper. I was concerned this die might not cut well on the glossy, as this paper was a bit thicker. Am pleased to say, it cut beautifully. The window bits had to get poked out, but was very easy...they cut well, just didn't drop off. The die cuts longer than this size card, and when I placed it to trim the ends, I wanted the tree over the moon. Was not thinking that when the card is opened, the tree is a bit in the way! So next time, I will plan better.  Now, those little bitty bats...well, one had to be extremely careful not to lose them as they are SO tiny. It was a very simple & fast card to make. Students did the background stamping of the spiderweb, adhering the purple to the black bibb card, then diecutting the moon from holograph paper (or is it hologram?). Anyway, sparkly paper! Then stamping & fast handcutting of the sentiment. All the papers/cardstock was precut in the interest of class time. A nifty card for very little time, once diecutting was finished. Would be easy to mass produce, I think.
Edit: the gray that you see to the left, is the scanner bed, not part of the card! Sorry about that...
