Easter cross card

Hello. We've had a beautiful morning, but as of the moment, our skies are darkening somewhat, perhaps for a thunderstorm that has been predicted. I have 2 cards to share today, hope you will enjoy them. Both were created with Spellbinders crosses and Heartfelt window dies. I used one of the new M-Bossibilities (Regal) on the background paper before adhering the window & cross. In the process, I managed to trash my old Cuttlebug. I have one of the newer Bugs, but don't like it as well. A family 'fix-it person' is looking at the old Bug to see if it can be salvaged. (But I have my doubts...just hoping real hard!). I didn't have the new M-Boss folder sandwiched properly, so it's my fault that the Bug popped a cork. Or rather - a gear. So if you have any of those, read the instructions more carefully than I did.
On to the cards:I saw a card on Pinterest which I thought was lovely, and followed the link to www.everythingpapercrafts.blogspot.com.
Irina's is much more detailed than what I did...so check it out for some super inspiration. The white paper is the inexpensive brand from Walmart, since I knew I'd have layers. The S/Binder crosses on today's cards are Crosses Two - 2012 release.(S5-093) which I preordered from Marcos Papers. HCD 710 - Heartfelt Decorative Oval Window Die and  Heartfelt Decorative Window Scene (HCD-708) were used in the layers. The cross with the lily was cut from vellum..which I have not worked with before. The lily stamp behind the window is also from Heartfelt - HCPC 3370 Easter Lilies. Copics were used to color the lily. I decided that it doesn't show up as well as I'd prefer, but I wasn't going to take it apart. As I have said before (and will probably say again!) this is a learning process for me. I learn more from my mistakes - I think - than I do from my successes. Does that make sense or am I the only person who feels this way??? I discovered that an all white card is hard to photograph.

  1. Mary these are STUNNING! Breathtaking actually. I do hope your Mr. Fix-it can repair your Bug. I crafted for years without one but now I can't imagine being without mine.
Sorry I haven't commented for a while. I do read all your posts though. I LOVE the photos of your lovely spring flowers and your glitter cards are fantastic.
    Hugs

  2. Thank you Bernie. Glad that you enjoyed the cards. I used the 'new' Bug in a class today...not liking it AT ALL! I asked around to see if anyone had an old (still working one!) they wanted to sell, as many folks have the Vagabond. I have that too, but haven't used it yet. I LIKED my Bug. This new one just doesn't have the 'feel' that the old one has. I'm hoping it can be repaired, but I'm doubtful. Have a Blessed Sunday.
