Christmas, Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge

Good Morning Fellow Bloggers, and I hope your Monday is off to a lovely start. Once again, we have a beautiful day outside, with temps going up towards the 70's today. Since I was too late for the last Craft Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge 118 (I misplaced my image, was too late to enter, blah, blah) I got busy and created this card to meet Challenge 119. Without further palaver, here's the card:

- image is a clear stamp from Flourishes**. There is a die that will cut out the flower, but I handcut a colored image to pop up. Stamping was done with Versamark, then heat embossed with Ranger Queen's Gold.  MS mica beads (gold & copper) used for the center. (this small piece was a snippet from another copic project) The focal image was also a snippet that was just large enough to have this folder placed on it.**Edit: This was an Our Daily Bread stamp...not Flourishes.

- embossed Mpress Swirl Frame EF on white snippet, then stamped with the clear Poinsettia stamp, heat embossed with Ranger's Queen's Gold.*

- sentiment was stamped and matted on more snippets. The pieces were diecut with S/Binders Ribbon Trio, 2 sizes. Used a Versamark pen to edge the green one, then embossed with Queen's Gold, added red rhinestones.

- scorepal line under the focal point, added red rhinestones to the corners and called it done!

*(Now for the rest of the story: When I stamped my first effort onto the white embossed piece, the center did not stamp well. I had a small piece of the same white cardstock handy, so took it all to my stamp press, restamped and it turned out fine. I colored the boo-boo on the embossed piece, then recolored the same on the smaller snippet which was also embossed to match the first effort, fussy cut out. Used the tiny leaves to add a bit more around the oval opening.) A word of advice: when using copics on embossing, a light hand is needed, because the embossing can wear down the marker nib.

I plan to link this card to two fun challenges: Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge 119, where the challenge is to have the word Christmas on a card....
and to Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground, week 67 (otherwise known as the Playground!).

Whoo-hoo! First time for me to enter 2 challenges at one time! Gosh, I'm broadening my horizons. I invite you to join me and come along to see all the beautiful projects at each of these places. I promise, there's a lot of inspiration!

And by the way, last night I dropped a copic marker between the sofa cushion, and it fell to the floor. Had to move the sofa out to get to my marker...guess what I found? The image I had intended to use for the last Crafty Hazelnut Christmas challenge - laying there on the floor where it had slid between the sofa cushions.

Thanks for joining me, and I hope you like the card today. Come again when you have time! Have a marvelous Monday. Hugs

(ahem, Miz Hazel was kind enough to remind me that this qualifies for the Christmas Challenge extra
so I will be quick like a bunny & enter in the Christmas Challenge extra for April. Thank you Hazel. Hope my blog readers will check out this challenge also.)

  8. Hey Mary - your Christmas card is gorgeous. I am sorry I have not been around lately. Kept my four youngest grandkids over the Easter holidays and also our 16 new baby chicks arrived and we got a Maremma sheepdog puppy. All in the same week. Plus our goats overeat and have been sick! I am trying to do a little catch up sweet lady -- will do the best I can. I love seeing your cards.
