Christmas Angels

Happy Halloween to all who observe the day. Also big welcome to Donna of Designing Keepsakes. Delighted that you have joined in here, and please do check out Donna's lovely blog when you have a moment.

I submit cards over at Pixie's Crafty Workshop when I have used snippets (scraps as we Yanks would call 'em, but the UK term snippets sounds much nicer). I learned about Lili of the Valley (LOTV) products at the Snippets Playground. I love these toppers/images. Some time ago, when LOTV had a sale AND free international shipping, I placed an order. (A UK blogger gave me the heads up on the free shipping promo). Today's card was inspired by this cutie, because when I saw it, I was reminded that I have some Christmas motifs from that LOTV order. I needed something 'fast' that didn't need coloring, in order to have a card to share today. Here 'tis:

- LOTV Angelic Christmas pre-colored image, sponged around the edges with a sponge that had red ink on it. Had just enough remaining ink to achieve the effect I wanted at the edges.

- Scalloped S/B square just peeking at the edges was a thick shiny green paper with silver threads running through it. This size S/Binder was just a tad too small but the next size was way too large. So... added the Cheery Lynn Italian Flourish doily. This die cut very smoothly since I was just using a red paper, rather than card stock.

- Memory Box Precious Stars (98546) - smaller size of 2 in the package - cut from a snippet of lightweight glitter paper.

- Elizabeth Craft sentiment, started as gold - colored with copic R56, on a white snippet punched with a SU word punch. Traced around this punched piece to get a handcut mat from the same green paper as the scallop mat behind the angels.

- Card base from American Crafts Peppermint Express 6x6 pack. Red Viva Décor pearls added to the holly.

Since this has 2 tiny snippets (sentiment & the stars), I am dashing over to the Playground to submit this card. Why don't you check out this fun place, meet our mascot, Mr. Parsnip, and enjoy some super cards while meeting some lovely bloggers? See ya there. In the meantime, Happy Halloween if you observe the day, and enjoy the little tricksters tonight. Some years we get a lot of kids, some years we have a lot of candy left. That we have to eat. A tough job, but it's gotta be done. Hugs

    Lovely doily, too.

Happy Halloween. I think ours is over as it has rained and rained and storms expected around sundown...just as the ghosts and goblins usually start arriving.
