Gothic Iron Work

Good afternoon & welcome on a gloomy overcast day. Looking like it could rain, our barometer shows rain, but nothing yet. I finished a card last night, and have a picture of some of the dies I purchased on my Saturday spree.

Some new die stash

Now for a card created with one of the new dies:

- Memory Box Gothic Ironworks window, die cut with plain black paper. (I'm trying to decide if I want to add a few jewels at some of the intersecting lines).

- background created by inking Hero Arts S5634 with Champagne Versamark. (not seeing a name on it, but it's a lovely leaf type of flourish). Stamped on Strathmore 140# watercolor paper as I planned to use sprays on the background.

Blended some pan pastels over the versamark, using deep blues, yellow, red & green shades. I wanted to give the illusion of stained glass. Rubbed over this with a paper towel, then sprayed with some Dylusions in Cut Grass, London Blue, Bubblegum Pink that had been diluted & mixed with White Linen. Blotted slightly with a paper towel and let it dry. Then I sprayed some gold Tattered Angels with a real good coating and let dry. After a bit of drying, I used a heat tool to be certain it really was dry. The tracery of the leaf flourish shows quite well IRL, but not sure how much will be visible in the photo.

Used a tan color of kraft - sort of had a gold tone rather than the usual kraft coloration - with a Darice brick EF to create the wall. Sponged DI worn liptick and vintage photo over the embossing - trying for the look of an old church wall.

- Metal leaf Memory box die made with the salvaged metal from a Dr. Pepper can, inked with alcohol inks.

- Card base is just black card stock. I wanted this window to take center stage. I was inspired by something I had seen on a Pinterest board, but I'll happily add the credit if somebody can tell me it's their idea.

I don't think I shall put a sentiment on the front of the card, but I'll use for either a Sympathy Card or a Get well card by putting something appropriate on the inside.

Hope you like this one. I do. Thanks for joining me this afternoon. I'm off to finish up another card made using this leaf flourish and a new Memory Box die. Hugs
