Friends Cards & Make n Take

Good morning - Happy Friday. I'm scheduling this post because I really need to get busy & get more Christmas cards ready. First I need to clean off my stamp desk so I have a place to work!!! I'll be back later this afternoon with a Fun Day Friday Challenge post, so please do drop back again.

I wanted to share 2 lovely cards made by some friends

Brenda's Card

This lovely card was in our mail when we returned from Fla. It's from my blog buddy, Brenda.
It is just so very pretty...the leaf is done with alchol inks, has the trunk sort of die cut into the leaf. Very unusual, and we just loved the layout, with all the gorgeous shimmering papers. Brenda & her family are dealing with a tough health issue at the moment, and I was so humbled that she took time to think of me and send this beautiful card. Thank you Brenda.

Edit: Brenda sent me a link to the leaf card above...you can find the how-to here.

Next a card from another blog buddy, Candee.

This card fold is a new one to me (and you can be sure I'll be trying to do it myself). The windows gave such a unique look to tempt you to see what the next layer of the card would reveal. Totally a beautiful card. Thanks Candee, I know you were busy during Thanksgiving too, so we were so thrilled to receive this lovely card.

Next is the make n take I had talked about doing while on my visit to Sparkle n Sprinkle, in Ruskin, Fla. I understand Margaret extended the Cyber Day Monday sale through Dec. 10th. There's free shipping too, using a promo code..so perhaps you'll have time to check it out.

I'm a slow card maker, but this card probably didn't take 10 minutes. (and I work even slower when somebody is watching me, like when I'm in class!). I used adhesive paper, glitter, stamped the flowers, adhered to a blue mat, then onto a kraft card base. This would be a great card to mass produce and is very cheery. I enjoyed making it while on my recent visit to this lovely store.

Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day, and many Hugs. Come again when you have time.

  2. I think you made a lovely card, Mary. It would have taken me more than 10 mins to make too.
